Couch to 5K

Well, as summer gets closer and closer and the weather is remaining fairly decent I am looking for more ways to exercise outside. I LOVE being outdoors. So, while I love my kickboxing (you can check out my favorite video here as well as watch a clip. My other 2 favorites are here and here.) I also love being outdoors. So I've been riding my bike, I've jumped rope a few times and now I am doing Couch to 5K. I've always wanted to run/jog and have wanted to do a 5K. It is supposed to take you from sitting on your couch to being able to run a 5K in two months. I did today and it went well. I could've done more but it said to pace myself and so I am following their plan right now. (scroll down and see it!)

So we'll see how it goes! So far I like it and on off days I'm going to do my strength training or my kickboxing. I don't mind exercising so much if it's outdoors! It's all a part of being off for summer vacation!  I have also been slowly altering my eating habits. I am such an emotional eater and I've really been praying about it and trying to give it over to God. I've been putting at least half of my plate fresh veggies or fruit one small piece of meat/protein and a small bit of carbs. I love fresh veggies especially so it hasn't been too hard. The hardest is giving up most sugar. BLAH! I love chocolate! Anyway, hopefully my couch to 5K will go off without a hitch and I'll keep you updated when I find a 5K I can attend!

  1. Yay! I did the couch to 5K plan and I wouldn't say I LOVE to run now, but that is certainly my exercise of choice. I love how I feel when I'm DONE running. :)

    Have you read Made to Crave? I'm involved in 2 Bible studies about it right now. It is an excellent book in regards to getting a handle on eating right.
